This scale is excellent. It's sturdy so you can hop on without feeling like you have to be careful not to damage it. The numbers don't fluctuate either. You can get on one time, get your weight, get off, get back on again and it'll say the same exact thing. Highly recommended if you're looking for a basic scale. :]

I found the platform adequate to stand on comfortably. I took it to my doctor's office and it was within one-half pound of her scale. It is the only scale I have ever owned that gave me the same weight twice in a row. I bought it because I am a heavy guy. Our other scale was wildly inaccurate over 250#. This one is great!

Yes this scale feels like you are standing on a hump but it seems to help you center yourself on the scale. I put my big toes on the display and it seems to work for me. We tested this scale with a hand weight and it was dead on unlike the digital scale which I purchased before this one. The scale is also consistent. My husband and I can weigh one right after the other without getting bizarre readings like the other one we tried. That one would be off by more than 5 pounds. Time will tell if we have other issues experienced by others.

This scale has two great features: large, clear numbers and a slight retention of the display after you step off the scale. It's easy to use, just tap lightly on top to set the scale to 0 then step on. The design is sleek and well made.

I've had this scale for almost 2 years, and have had to change the battery only once. It's been reliable and I've had no problems with it at all.

I had to return one scale because it didn't register the initial 00's. The second scale - BTW the return was handled excellently - works perfectly. It is accurate and has large numerals easy for me to read, even with my defective vision. It holds the weight for a few seconds after you get off the scale, so you can catch the reading. I would buy the same scale again - and the price is right.

These scales are the third set I have bought to weigh myself. I am a big guy (360) & these are the first that will weigh me the same two times in a row. Yes, they do kind of have a small space to stand on but I believe it makes them more accurate. If you weigh too much in pounds you can always switch them to kilos & weigh half as much! The other scales I tried would not weigh the same twice in a row & they sounded like they were breaking to pieces when I stepped on them.
If your big like me I can recommend these scales.

Escali High Capacity Large Display Bathroom Scale (400lb/180kg) This is a good scale but it does take patience to work it. You need to tap the middle, and step on it fast when two zeros appear, otherwise they flash off and you have to start again. On the positive side, the numbers are large and readable. The downside is that the standing-on surface is a little narrower for a big guy like my husband to stand on comfortably. He is 300 + pounds and has some difficulty.

I had returned another scale after highly erratic readings, and bought this one instead. This one works! I get a consistent accurate number every time (same as what my doctor's scale had given), and just as a joke, I put a fresh 2 pound bag of flour on it, and it came up 2.2 pounds - the paper bag itself causing the extra two-tenths. I also like the fact that the reading remains for a few seconds after stepping off - this way you can stand straight for a steady reading, then look down after stepping off. The 5-inch numbers are easy to read, even without a backlight. Yes, it does feel like it's a convex surface as you stand on it, but that's very easy to get used to. So far, I'm pleased with the purchase.

This scale has some great features including a huge display panel that is very easy to see, a large enough platform on which to stand comfortably (even for big-footed critters such as myself!), and a surface that is easy to keep clean. My only complaint is that the batteries don't last very long. I am very happy with this scale. It gives the same reading no matter how often you step on and off. The last electronic scale I had required numerous weighings until you got the same reading at least three times in a row. I've checked it against my doctor's scales, and it is within one pound of his. The reason I didn't give it five stars is because of it's slightly slippery and rounded surface. I don't really feel unsafe using it, just a bit uncomfortable.

Consistent scale, easily read, works in the range of its capacity. Like any scale, it will be most consistent within the middle 90% of its range; if you are close to the capacity, you will see noise in the results which may have nothing to do with your weight.

The scale is attractive and consistent in the weight it shows. Also it has very large numbers. These are two of the reasons that I purchased the scale and are positive attributes.

HOWEVER, I AM A LARGE MAN AND THE SURFACE OF THE SCAlE IS SLOPED TO THE SIDES. I HAVE TO USE MY CANE TO KEEP FROM SLIDING OFF (THE SCALE HAS A NON SLIP SURFACE WHICH SHOULD HOLD FOR UNDER 250 LB).

I deleted an earlier glowing review because like another reviewer, this unit stopped working in six months. While it worked, it was great. Easy to use, repeatable and with a great display. It actually stopped working after a month, but I opened it up and found a lose wire, soldered it and forgave it. But six months later, I could only get it started by reinserting the batteries, I can no longer give it a good review. Its internal construction is chinsy and the case is thin plastic. However, it was so much of what I wanted, I ordered another. If the next one fails, I'll have to find one less enjoyable but more reliable.

THE FIRST SCALE i RECEIVED DID NOT COME ON UNLESS YOU LIFTED THE SIDE AND THEN DROPPED IT. i SENT IT BACK AND GOT ANOTHER WHICH SEEMS TO WORK, i like the big numbers on the readout. I don't like the size of the platform. Very hard to be steady on.

This scale is just okay. I don't like the way the display gets stuck because the person may be extra big weighted and I have had to work with the battery section to get the display to be unstuck. It is so irritating.

24.) Worked Great for a While

I was thrilled with this product when I purchased it in March 2008. I weigh 155 lbs or so, and the scale has been gently used. Now in August 2008 it quit working. I changed the batteries (thin lithium batteries that cost $7 for the pair). The scale worked the first time after replacing the batteries, then gave a dead screen. Now the only way I can get it to "wake up" is to remove and re-install a battery each time I want to use it. Most recently I can't get it to zero out even when the display is working.

THIS SCALE MAY GO TO 400LBS, BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH FOOT SPACE TO STAND ON. ALSO WHEN YOU STEP ON IT TO GET WEIGHED IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE STANDING ON A LUMP IN THE CENTER OF THE SCALE.

I GOT TWO OTHER PEOPLE TO STEP ON IT AND THEY HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS. NOT KNOWING WHAT MY COMPLAINTS WERE.

I purchased this scale in April 2008 and it lasted a little over six months. My last scale lasted over 20 years. This scale was a bad purchase and not worth the money invested.

If I could give this scale a negative number that would be better. My boyfriend bought this for us a couple months ago and it does not work at all. When you step on it, it gives you some random weight or will just keep counting down to zero. I am very unhappy with this product and I WOULD NOT TELL ANYONE TO BUY IT EITHER, SAVE YOUR MONEY HERE AND GET SOMETHING GOOD!!!!

I suggest if you are going to buy an item of this nature that you purchase it at a local store where you can return it.
