This is a nice, portable way to check on blood pressure.
There are two cuffs, one regular and one large sized. A gray carrying case holds the unit.
The display is very large and easy to read. Showing blood pressure and pulse. There is a symbol indicating too much movement, which means you'll need do re-take your pressure. There is a symbol for irregularheatbeat and a warning symbol forhypertension.
I'm thrilled with this product, the only fault I could find was it hums a bit loudly. Still it is a quality monitoring unit, much better than ones I've seen at drug stores.
Highly recommended.

Apparently the Omron Women's Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor derived it's name because it has been clinically validated for use by at risk pregnant women who require regular monitoring. But the unit is not just for women - it can be used by anyone who needs to monitor their blood pressure.
Using this couldn't be easier. Once you determine whether you will be using the standard or large cuff; put the cuff on your upper arm with the Velcro fastener, plug the air tube into the digital monitor and press the start button. The unit will inflate the cuff and calculate your blood pressure and pulse. There are also indicators for hypertension, irregular heartbeat, and an alarm with two settings to remind you to take your readings or medicine. There is a feature that will average up to three readings taken within a 10 minute interval. The unit will store 84 readings and there is a "guest" setting which won't affect your stored readings. The display results are large and easy to read.
Everything you need is in this package. The box contains:
1 digital automatic blood pressure monitor
2 cuffs (standard and large sizes)
1 illustrated Spanish/English instructional manual
4 AAA batteries
1 cuff guide (for sizing)
1 zipper case for storage
I can't speak to the pinpoint accuracy of the unit; it seems to be in the vicinity of readings taken at the doctor's office. If you're consistent with applying the cuff, and taking your blood pressure on a regular basis, this unit will certainly be able to show you trends which you can discuss with your physician. Putting the cuff on your own arm is not difficult. There is always the possibility you could make a mistake with the cuff placement that could affect your reading but, if you make any big mistakes with the cuff, it will over inflate and display a large "E" for error.
If you need to track your (or a loved one's) blood pressure on a regular basis, this easy-to-use, easy-to-read digital monitor makes it much less of a chore.
Highly recommended.

The Omron Elite 7300W comes with 4 "AAA" batteries, the monitor, two size cuffs, cuff guide, zippered case and instructions.
When I opened the box, I was thankful that the batteries were included so I could get set-up right away. The cuff guide is included and it looks like it is just part of the packaging, so look for it and do not discard, a good cuff fit is a big part of getting an accurate reading. The Omron Elite 7300W is marketed for women but works for both men and women, that's when the two size cuffs come in handy.
I skimmed over the easy directions, used the cuff guide to determine my cuff size, picked the correct cuff, attached it to the monitor and turned it on. It immediately started inflating. In a minute I had a reading. I took mine on both arms, a couple of times each. Wait 2 to 3 minutes between readings on the same arm. The reading seemed to be accurate and run with what my blood pressure normally runs. I tested my husband and Mom also with the same accurate results.
The monitor is programmable with date, time and memory so you can get an average of your readings. It also has an alarm that you can set to remind you to take your medication.
Overall, the monitor is very easy to use and more importantly gives an accurate reading. If you are looking for a good blood pressure monitor, I recommend the Omron Elite 7300W.

I'm the primary caregiver for my elderly mom, and in order to monitor her vital signs -- blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, and respiratory rate -- I obviously need a good quality blood pressure monitor. I've used Omron's model HEM-780NC, which comes with one cuff rather than the two that the model I'm reviewing comes with, and which is a bit too large to be conveniently portable, but which is otherwise excellent quality. When I take my mom to the doctor, I want to be able to bring her blood pressure monitor so I can compare its reading with the nurse's reading, and I wanted a monitor I could bring when I take my mom to visit relatives who live 500 miles away. The Omron Elite 7300W fills the bill. The smaller (standard or medium size) cuff is the right size for my mom, the unit is accurate, and is small enough to make it convenient for travel. (I wish it came with and was designed for use with an AC adapter in addition to batteries, but it can supposedly take approximately 300 readings on a single set of batteries, so the fact that it cannot also operate on AC power is not that big a deal.) The medication reminder alarm that this unit includes is also a plus. This monitor is easy to use. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and taking readings couldn't be easier. When I asked a physician about what kind of blood pressure monitor to get for my mom, his only advice was, "You get what you pay for." I would say that the Omron Elite 7300W, like the Omron HEM-780NC, is an excellent, high quality unit for the money.

I received the set today and took mine and several of my various sized female friends BPs. It comes w/ 2 cuff sizes, but the larger size was not used. The cuffs are sturdy, well made and have the metal bar to ensure it is properly tightened. I can't really notice how they were specifically fashioned for a woman (I would have selected a different color than gray, maybe lavender to help calm). They should hold up for many years use. The heavier than expected sturdy monitor (very easy to read w/o reading glasses) quickly provided accurate measurements without over constriction of your upper arm like other self-inflating BP cuffs I've tried have done. This is an important feature for elderly persons with easily bruised skin. What I think is most important is the specific directions it gives for preparing for your BP to be taken (no smoking, caffeine, exertion, feet flat on floor, use left arm, etc.) and the correct procedural placement. I've been a RN for a long time (yes old school, but only so far back as to wear hats and white uniforms) and one of my pet peeves is the incorrect manner in which my own BP is taken when having my annual check up. I even had it sloppily taken by a NP, which really perturbed me and yes, I tactfully suggested the cuff needed better placement for accuracy. The only reasons I care is to prevent a brief MD lecture (you're a nurse and know what you SHOULD be doing),improper prescribing of medication based on false results, and when the insurance companies review your MR you want them accurate so your self insured rates do not increase. Another nice feature is you can take this monitor to your MD appt. and show the stored results in the event of "white coat syndrome." I've purchased this Omron brand for several pedometers (yes given as exciting gifts) and a hand held fat analyzer (all on Amazon) that I love to share its use w/ friends and long-term clients for educational purposes (or a good laugh and/or sigh). All of my Omron products have held up well past their warranty period so I expect this item to faithfully work for many years to come. Almost forgot to mention that the storage case is well sized and appears quite durable. I'm very pleased and will update this review if my opinion changes.

I regularly am required to take my blood pressure readings. This is one of the easiest to use and MOST COMFORTABLE. It tracks your readings and will give an average, which my doctor finds most useful. If you need to order one or plan on replacing the one you already use, this is THE ONE to buy!
8.) Accurate and easy to use

This is a very nice unit with many advantages and only a very small number of "misses." The unit itself is very well made - all parts feel substantial. The cuff in particular is very nicely made, and should last for some time. I have an older Omron and it has held up perfectly over the years, so I expect this one will as well.
But all the good construction in the world is for naught unless the unit is accurate and so easy to use that you'll actually use it. I take my older Omron to the doctor's office about once a year to compare the reading it provides with the one taken by the nurse. My old Omron was always spot on, so I compared the new Omron with the old. Again, spot on!
Easy of use is also excellent. There's a large arrow on the cuff to show you the proper direction to point it. The cuff slips on and tightens very easily. I'm especially pleased with the ease of taking it off - my Mom has rather weak hands, but she had no problems unzipping (if that's the right word) the Velcro. The display is very large, with clearly visible LCD readouts. Again, an essential feature for an older user, and just plain convenient for us younger (but not too far away from "older") users.
The memory feature with averaging is nice. The pill reminder feature might be useful for some, but it's not something I'll use so I didn't play around with it much. It comes with two sizes of cuffs so it should fit pretty much anyone. The cuff plugs into the unit with a plastic plug - very easy.
I like that it is battery powered (4 AAA, which are included) rather than have to use a power cord. Not sure how long the batteries will last - I'm hoping for a few months use before having to replace them.
My small complaints have to do with the initial setup. It's rather cumbersome to set the date and time. I was able to take care of it after a quick read of the manual, but it would have frustrated someone like my Mom who has a low tolerance for a lot of button pushing. A more convenient system, perhaps with dedicated buttons for "date," "time" etc. could be a nice feature.
One thing that puzzled me was the way it stressed that this was a blood pressure monitor for women. I'm a man, and it seems to work just great for me!
9.) Easy, fast way to keep tabs on your BP.

I'm probably more up on my blood pressure than most women my age, but that's because of a two-month hospital stay this year after my appendix ruptured and a subsequent blood clot in my leg.
Ever since, I'm finally off the IV antibiotics, but I still have a few more months on coumadin, a blood thinner to keep the clots at bay. I have to get a blood test once a week to monitor the coumadin, and so I always get my blood pressure professionally measured weekly.
Since I'm such an expert on my own BP, I knew pretty much the range what my readings should be. When I got the Omron Elite, it took about two minutes to be up and running. VERY easy to use device for the technologically impaired!
Inside the package is a plastic strip you use to measure the circumference of your upper arm so you'll know which of the two enclosed cuffs is fitted to you (from what I can see, the medium cuff will fit most people, including men who aren't the Arnold Schwarzenegger "pump you up" type.)
The monitor itself is easy to operate and holds up to 84 readings in its memory. I put the cuff on about a half inch above my elbow, the cuff already attached to the electronic monitor by the inflatable tubing. Press the button, and voila, the device inflates itself and takes your BP.
As for accuracy, I took my BP right after the nurse came for my blood test and weekly BP monitoring. The nurse reading was 100/70; the Omron Elite reading, less than 10 minutes later, was virtually the same (you should know that your BP fluctuates all the time for all kinds of reasons; for example, if you're in pain, your BP will rise.)
Couldn't get any easier! I highly recommend the Omron Elite for those who want to keep an eye on their BP for preventative and immediate health monitoring. I know when I recover from the after-effects of my surgery and there's no need for the weekly nurse visit, that the Omron Elite will make it simple for me to keep an eye on my blood pressure and keep it in check.
And btw, the Omron Elite may be marketed to women, but it takes male BP just fine, too. If you need a BP device for the whole family, you need look no further. I highly recommend this easy-to-use, reasonably priced monitor.
10.) Easy to use and it works!

About as easy to use as you can imagine. The electronic monitor works with a single start/stop button and two cuffs. I'm not sure why this is marketed towards women only as the large cuff works on my arm. A measurement guide (included) tells you which cuff to use, the cuff is marked so you tighten it around your arm correctly, and you just plug it into the side and push the button. Results in less than a minute. After you're done, everything fits into a light-grey zip-up carrying case.
Also, my mother, a nurse, tells me the doctors in her office recommend this brand to their patients.
Edit September 2009: I brought it into my doctor's office to prove to him once and for all that the nurses in his office are taking my blood pressure incorrectly. (They all say it's perfect when I know it's borderline-high.) He really liked the machine and asked where he can get one. Score another doctor for Omron Elite.

I noticed a machine for women, the Elite 7300. I purchased it and after using it for a few weeks, I have to say that I am very pleased.
The Elite 7300 is easy to use, gives me a consistent reading and has given me the opportunity to be involved in handling my high blood pressure. It has a lot of extra features, but most important is that I feel that the Elite 7300 is doing what it is supposed to do, give me accurate reading.

I take my blood pressure every day as requested by my doctor. I already own the cheapest Omron blood pressure model, which has always worked just fine and is a testament to the Omron brand. This model however is a nice upgrade particularly for an individual who has to take their blood pressure every day. It's small and easy to pack for travel making it a really useful machine. It includes two arm band sizes, 4AAA batteries (which the machine runs on)and a carrying case which is handy to keep everything together neatly. It's simple to understand how to use (with a quick read of the manual) and so far it has been totally accurate with my other blood pressure reader.
The machine itself is about the size of a large remote control. It's not pocket sized by any means, but it is much smaller than the standard cuff-bp machine (btw, if anyone is curios, my doctor said to only use the cuffs for accurate bp readings - wrists or fingers are rarely truly representative of bp.)
This one advertises that it's accurate for women in all stages of life and seems to be geared more towards the female user, however there was no difference in accuracy when I used it vs. my husband using it for a reading.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with this product.

The idea of having one of these at home was intriguing and while I mostly got it for my mom as she's in her early fifties and I am starting to worry about her, just me being a worry wart, I was extremely satisfied with the ease that she can now have while checking up on her health. Having a blood pressure monitor at home is extremely important, I recently found out with my own boss whom I'm very close with, as her pregnancy suddenly threw her in jeopardy of having a seizure. Two weeks ago while having regular check up her blood pressure results were extremely high ( 180) to the point where she had an early C-section that very same day and had to deliver a premature baby ( 7 months) in order to keep herself safe. Now if she had one of these at home she wouldn't have to wait for a doctor's visit to see that something wasn't right. I still remember her sitting at work then leaving for what seemed like a routine visit and then never coming back! Life is never certain but Omron can make us women rest a little easier at night.
Not only is this easy to use but there is no nerves when it comes to taking the blood pressure. Even I get nervous when I have any exams so this is a nice, easy way to keep in check.

Yes, I'm a guy...but it says right on the box that it is certified for both men and women...so aside from the smaller cuff, I can't see what makes this a "women's" model.
Quite literally, this was five minutes from open box to my first reading. Batteries are included (Don't know yet how battery usage will be--will update the review if it eats 'em). I snapped them in. Set the time & date (EASY!). Measured my arm (It actually comes with two cuff sizes...again...why for women?) and I attached the small cuff (HEY! I'm not that buff...so I have small arms!) and hit start.
It was gentle and quite fast. The internal computer will keep track of your readings BP & pulse. It will even average them for you. I don't give a lot of five star reviews for any products these days.
7/28 Addition to review: went to the doctor an hour or so after taking a reading this morning & it was pretty close (like all visits to the doctor the BP was a bit elevated). Several have slammed the accuracy here, I just didn't see that reflected in my use. Also, the ability to keep track of several readings & page through them quickly--a big plus!
This is [still] a definite five star product.

So I've been assembling a Caregiver's Toolkit with everything I have needed, and a few things I haven't needed yet, to provide immediate care for cuts, burns, panic attacks, and who know what else.
This blood pressure monitor is right on the top of my list and at the top of my Toolkit box (it's small and doesn't require much storage space).
After an accident, the first thing that happens is that blood pressure increases and heart rate becomes eratic. With this monitor I'm able to get an accurate reading and see exactly what's going on until I can get professional help. That's essential information I need right away.
Is it a lifesaver? It could be.
If you're a caregiver, too, I suggest getting this monitor and keeping it where you can get to it in a hurry. You'll be glad to have the information available within seconds rather than hours.
By the way, you'll probably want to use it to keep tabs on yourself as well as the person you're caring for. Caregiving can be stressful -- for both of you.
Five stars and a big "thank you" for a very helpful monitor.
UPDATE: April 7, 2009
I've been using this monitor regularly and have checked its readings against those in my mom's doctor's office. Right on the money! I feel much more secure knowing that I can check blood pressure every day and that the answer I'm getting is correct.
A huge help for any caregiver!

I was not really sure what made this blood pressure monitor for women, but I decided I would give it a try anyway. First I read the outside of the box and it does say that it is calibrated for both Men and Women. Then I measured my arm with the included tool to see if I needed the medium or large cuff which are both included and I just barely needed the large and I am 195lb man with larger than average arms, so this will not be a problem for most people. Then I plugged the cuff into the machine and hit the button and it inflated and gave me a reading within the range that I normally see when I have been taking my blood pressure about once a week for over a year on another machine at work, so that was good to see. It also has a very nice little carrying case that fits a cuff and the machine and has a handle for taking it wherever you want. So I took it to work and let some others try it out and it gave them normal readings as well. So other than the name implying this is for women for some unknown reason, I have no complaints about this device, very easy to use, accurate readings, and convenience.

While this product seems to be target marketed for women, I don't see where it's specifically for one gender or the other, but could be used by everyone.
As with any technical/electronic gadget, there was a little initial programming of the date and time and it took me a few attempts, but it's not impossible - and I'm admittedly not the most technical. If you take your blood pressure daily, this product has a medication reminder that can be activated. You can store your readings to create a record/history, which is why the programming of the date/time is recommended.
Two cuff sizes are included and the instructions for the blood pressure monitoring and use are pretty straightforward and extremely easy to use. I especially like that it self inflates (kind of like the type you find in grocery stores and Targets), unlike some of the other home blood pressure monitors which require you to pump it up to a certain level (which makes me nervous).
This comes with a nice case that is large enough to hold both cuffs, the monitor and the instructions and it's made of a nice Kadura-like material that looks extremely durable and will protect the device both around the home and if you travel with it.
Overall, I recommend this blood pressure monitor - small, easy to use and both the device and the case are attractive. This is the best I've come across.

I've had high blood pressure for over 10 years. I had a manual pump BP monitor to monitor my pressure. The Omron Elite is a huge upgrade from my manual model. It is very high quality and easy to use. I love it. You just choose which pressure cuff (small or large) to use, put it on, and press the start button. The Omron does the rest. It pumps itself up and within a minute you know your pulse and blood pressure. One cool thing I noticed it that the Omron measures you pressure on the way up. This means that it doesn't have to over shoot your blood pressure by 50 points and squeeze your arm until it hurts. A lot of times, especially in the doctors office, they will pump up the cuff really tight to make sure they are above your pressure so they can record it on the way down. The Omron only goes a few points higher than your actual blood pressure.
Items to note:
- Records over 80 of your last readings. No more keeping track in a notebook!
- Averages the last three readings for a better result.
- Guest mode to let others use the unit without adding their readings to your data.
- Very high quality case that keeps the unit safe and clean.
- Marketed to women but works just as well for men.

But since I've long been affected by quite the opposite condition--orthostatic hypotension (and trust me, for a desirable condition, it can be a pain)--I thought I'd take advantage of the opportunity to acquire the means of keeping an eye on it at home.
Given that, I'm afraid I can't review the Elite 7300W as effectively as I imagine others can who have experience with other products of this type and who can make informed and helpful comparisons. Suffice it to say that it's quite tiny, elegant, and stores results to provide average readings (my own readings were always taken upon awakening and were similar enough that the averages were quite boring). The larger of the two included cuffs is capacious enough to make me wonder why marketing targets one sex. It fits easily into its carrying case and is small enough to store unobtrusively. What else can I say?
I intend to let my folks play with this when I next see them and at that point, I'll update this review to reflect their input. Based on what I know about the history of my blood pressure, the results are very accurate; combine that accuracy with a nicely manufactured unit and what else do you need to keep on top of your blood pressure?

I just received this monitor today and I was very anxious to try it. First off, it says for a woman but I don't know why it's not just as accurate for a man (like some other reviewers said). My husband was told he has high blood pressure so this will be an easy way to monitor it. We both tried it and both used the standard size cuff. The large cuff would fit someone very muscular. It only stores a memory for one person, but you can use it for a "guest" also; it just doesn't store the readings for the guest. The cuff inflates automatically (I'm used to the old fashion kind that has to be pumped up). It was very easy to set up and fun to do!

The Omron Elite is a quick and convenient blood pressure monitor. It comes with two arm cuffs, a display unit, batteries, and a travel case. It's easy to use - just slip on the cuff and press one button on the display unit; in less than a minute you'll have a clear read-out of your pressure and pulse. It's painless and quiet. The memory function allows you to save and recall up to 84 readings with dates and times and even set it to go off like an alarm clock to remind you to take medications.
The manual gives directions on how to choose the right cuff - standard or large size - according to colors on the cuffs, but there were no colors on my cuffs. I don't know why this is marketed for women only; there is nothing about it that would make it unusable by men. It's a quality product that does the job and would benefit many adults. I've used it many times and the readings are uniform. Highly recommended.

I already owned a wrist blood pressure monitor, so I was eager to try this one to compare the results, comfort, and features. So far, I'm extremely happy with this blood pressure monitor. The two cuff sizes are very helpful. I found the larger one to be too big, so the smaller one works very well. I like having the larger one though so I can check my husbands blood pressure on occassion.
I found the inflation to be very comfortable, unlike some other home units I've tried. I didn't feel too pinched or squeezed, and it was gradual.
I also like the fact that this stores my readings, so I don't have to depend upon my recollection.
If your blood pressure tends to border on prehypertension like mine, this would be a wonderful gift to yourself so you can monitor changes before hypertension becomes a problem. For the small difference in price over a wrist monitor, I would highly recommend this one primarily because of comfort.

I bought this product to monitor my blood pressure. I could not use my usual cuff and stethescope easily to take my own pressure. This unit works easily and accurately. The instructions for use were simple to understand. In terms of patient education I would recommend this device to anyone who wants a simple to use, comfortable and accurate device. It stores and can be transported easily in the padded kit. Because it has two sizes of cuffs, it is great for average and large framed females, but also for the larger size that a man may require, making it ideal for a husband/wife unit. Note: If you have a very slender or extremely frail female, there is no child size cuff in the set, which would be needed. The same would be true for an obese adult; their is no thigh size cuff. Using the wrong size cuff gives inaccurate blood pressue readings. There is a measuring tape to help someone determine if they meet the cuff size requirements for the two cuffs included. It only stores one user in memory but allows for "guest" use. If you need two individuals stored in memory it would be better to find a unit that records and saves two different users. I am most happy with this blood pressure unit and would recommend it to anyone (noting exceptions for frail or obese users).

I put on quite a bit of weight from swelling and water retention at the end of my pregnancy too so the two cuff sizes were also great.
The display is large and easy to read. The little case it comes in made it easy to pack up and take with me. The package said it was ideal for pregnant women and it definitely was for me. I plan to keep using it until my pressure returns to normal, and I will definitely use it if and when I decide to have another baby.

I love this machine. It is very easy to use and seems well made. I have never owned a blood pressure monitor before, so I did a bit of online research before I purchased this one. The Omron company is highly regarded and the Omron Elite 7300W Womens Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor was highly rated among the company's many different machines. Important to note is this model is not only for women. It is also recommended for men.
It comes with 2 cuffs- one for people with large upper arms and one for people with regular sized arms. A measuring tape is included so that you can measure your own arm and choose the correct cuff. This is very important for getting accurate measurements. I noticed that most other machines come with only one size cuff. The cuff is also easy to apply.
The unit shows very large numbers in the display window, making it easy to read. It has a memory function that keeps track of up to 84 readings for one person. A second person can log on as a "guest' to take his/her blood pressure, but the guest's measurement will not be kept in memory. If you are looking for a blood pressure monitor that will track more than one person's measurements, you should choose a different model.
The directions are good; many pictures make it easier to interpret. It comes with a nice carrying case and batteries are also included.
One pointer: do peel off the clear plastic sheet that covers the display window before you use the monitor. I didn't do this at first and couldn't see my own measurement through the sample numbers printed on the plastic protective sheet. It was a little tricky peeling it off.
This is a thoughtfully packaged, fine, easy to use machine.

For years I had an old, manual-pump style blood pressure monitor I inherited from a relative. While it did the job, it was a far cry from the Omron Elite 7300W's advanced and up-to-date technology.
I must say I love the Omron. It offers a host of useful features for a competitive price: two cuffs (one large, one regular size), auto-inflate, memory function, and I can even use it on my mom when she comes to visit because the unit features a convenient Guest Mode.
I am also fond of the "motion detector" feature during operation. Sometimes one isn't even aware of shifting and changing position and this can mess up the accuracy of the measurement. The Omron unit warns of too much movement, thus preventing inaccurate readings. Another cool thing: The unit can detect irregular heart beats and alert the user to it.
I feel that this blood pressure monitor offers a lot of value for the money and the sleek, portable design and useful carrying case top it off.
Would recommend this to anyone who must or wants to keep track of their blood pressure. Very convenient device!

First of all I want to point out that although this product description states that is designed "to help today's active women put their own needs first," the Omron Elite 7300W works just as well for men. I am still trying to determine why the manufacturer isolates their market share for this product to the female gender, as that seems rather counterproductive. However, I can see how the slim design, included small cuff and white color of the unit itself would appeal to women.
I have used a manual inflation Omron Sphygmomanometer (aka Blood Pressure Testing Thingamajig) for years, but found it to be rather cumbersome to operate. After all, it requires you to attach the cuff to your arm, inflate the cuff with a squeeze bulb and use a stethoscope to listen for heart beat and blood flow sounds. You also need some knowledge and training to know how to use this sort of medical device. But I found this method to be extremely accurate so I have stuck with it for a long time. A family friend recently introduced me to their semi-automatic blood pressure monitor, made by Mabis, which proved to be much easier to use and seemed to give accurate readings. I had decided that I wanted a fully automatic monitor, with the ability to give an average over multiple readings and the Omron Elite 7300W seemed to fit the bill perfectly. The only thing that made me hesitate was that this device was classified as a "Woman's Blood Pressure Monitor." But I noticed that the device came with two different sized cuffs so I decided that it would work well for both me and my wife.
The Omron Elite 7300W comes with everything you need, right out of the box. It includes the main unit, a standard (small) and a large arm cuff, detailed instruction manual, 4 AAA batteries, a useful and attractive zipper case, a quick start guide and a cuff guide (which you slide on your arm to determine which cuff size is right for you). Installing the batteries is a breeze and the instruction manual guides you through the easy process of setting the time and date for the device. The cuff is designed very well and is extremely easy to put on by yourself. I was setup and taking my first reading in less than 5 minutes. A simple push of the Start/Stop button initiates the cuff inflation pump. It is very important that you sit perfectly still during the reading, as it will give you an error if you don't. The entire inflation process was quick and the unit gave me a reading in roughly 20 seconds. The reading was spot-on compared to my previous reading with my manual Omron blood pressure kit. I then used the 7300W on my wife (using the smaller cuff) and again received great results. We have since compared the reading with our friend's Mabis semi-automatic blood pressure monitor and they both give nearly the same readings (which appear to be very accurate). However, the Omron Elite 7300W is easier and quicker to use than the Mabis device.

So far we have been using the Omron Elite 7300W blood pressure monitor for nearly two weeks and we simply love it. This device just couldn't be any easier to use, and the well designed storage case lets us tuck everything in its place, to store until the next use. The entire kit is small, lightweight, fast and accurate. Omron is a trusted brand that is recommended by doctors and pharmacists. That gives me peace of mind that I have a reliable and accurate healthcare product that will provide my family years of continued use. I normally give a list of pros and cons for products that I review but I honestly cannot think of any cons for this device. I have to admit that the small cuff hose is a little short but it's certainly long enough for typical use and isn't a strong enough issue to be considered a con. I should also note that the larger cuff has a longer hose attached.
Overall I am extremely happy with the Omron Elite 7300W Blood Pressure Monitor. Although the manufacturer claims it is designed to help today's active women put their own needs first, it is definitely just as useful and well-suited for men as well. If the main unit came in a black or grey color, instead of white, it would probably be claimed as designed for men. I can assure you that the 7300W works well for men, women and children (middle aged and older) alike. The price is higher than the economy models but the quality, features, ease of use and accuracy of this model make it worth every penny. I highly recommend the Omron Elite 7300W to anyone that desires or requires the ability to monitor their blood pressure at home or on the go.

I bought this for its reputed accuracy and consistancy, and because it comes a small and medium arm band. It seems to be accurate, as it matches my doctor's reading, in general. I have not tested them side by side, which I eventually will.
However, it is very consistant. If I take three readings (with an appropriate pause between) they are impressively close. That is important to me as I can add or subtract a know difference from my doctor's readings as long as I know my machine is consistantly a bit high or low. I absolutely trust it if it tells me a reading is higher or lower than a previous one.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs to trust their health to a BP Monitor.

Being advertised as a Woman's Blood Pressure Monitor is a bit deceiving as it can be used by both men and women alike. So far, I don't know of any technology that will check first to make sure that I'm a woman and then either shut down, or error out if it detects that I'm a man.
The two cuffs that are included are both cuffs that are found in any Emergency Room and differ for the size of the upper arm. The arrow on the cuff clearly points to where the cuff needs to be placed, which is near the antecubital region ... or the 'bend in the arm'. The smaller cuff is the standard size cuff used by most triage stations whenever you check in and have your vitals taken.
I took readings with the monitor at different times during the day for several weeks and got the appropriate readings as I double checked each time with an older manual gauge blood pressure monitor that works perfectly and is frequently calibrated.
The ease of use, lightweight and compact nature as well as the portability and battery life make this monitor good for just about anyone in the modern world. In a world were everything has gone digital, devices such as these are expected to phase out the older gauge style devices. Barring an EMP blast ... you should be in good hands ... or cuffs.

Rating:
When I was first diagnosed with hypertension about 10-15 years ago, I bought an Omron Automatic Digital Blood Pressure Monitor (HEM-713C). This new Omron Elite 7300W is a much nicer monitor in many ways, but lacks some of the simple touches of my older monitor. I took my BP in both right and left arms with both the old and new monitors. I can't attest to battery life of the older model, as I haven't used it in a long while, so that may be part of why its readings were so inconsistent. I just put the batteries in the new model this week, so I know they are fresh. My readings with both monitors, which were taken within seconds of one another, are as follows for comparison purposes:
Old Monitor:
Right: 134/59 - pulse 60
Left: 99/52 - pulse 59
New Monitor - Small Cuff:
Right: 122/67 - pulse 63
Left: 112/63 - pulse 59
New Monitor - Large Cuff:
Right: 110/60 - pulse 61
Left: 111/60 - pulse 59
As you can see, the new monitor was much more consistent among readings than the old monitor (again, though, that could be due to battery age). Also, I took readings with both the large and small cuff because someone had mentioned that they got a substantially different reading between the two cuffs and I was curious to see if that happened for me (for the record, the large cuff is much too long for my arm).
Following are what I felt were pros and cons of the Elite 7300W when compared to the features of my old monitor:
Pros:
1. While the cuff is filling, the air pressure of the fill slows down so that when the cuff is completely full, it is not was uncomfortable a squeeze as my old monitor, which could be painful.
2. Instead of holding at the highest fill point while it took the reading like my old monitor (which could be uncomfortable if the cuff was very tight), the Elite 7300W got to the highest fill point and then immediately released, so you got relief from the pressure.
3. The Elite 7300W turns itself off; so, for example, if you got a phone call while you were taking your pressure reading and forgot to go back and turn it off, you wouldn't drain your batteries.
4. This monitor stores readings and gives averages. It also has an indicator if it is unable to take an accurate reading due to an irregular heartbeat. It will even remind you to take your meds!
5. Whereas the edges of the cuff of my old monitor were "raw," the edges of the new monitor's cuffs were covered, which made the cuff more comfortable.
6. The monitor plus the instruction booklet plus both cuffs fits in a great zippered carrying case--love that!
Cons:
1. My old monitor had an "on/off" button and a "start inflation button." The Elite 7300 only has a "start/stop" button. Therefore, the act of turning it on also begins the inflation. For purposes of writing this review, I wanted to just turn on the monitor to view the various displays, but I could not. In terms of general use, this probably won't be much of a hindrance.
2. My old monitor beeped when the cycle was done and your pressure reading was ready. This new one just stops. For those who are looking right at the monitor while they're taking their pressure, this is no big deal. I always look away so it was nice to have that beeping cue to let me know when it was done.
100.) Excellent, ACCURATE, blood pressure monitor for women AND MEN
Reviewed by: sound fanatic Arlington, MA

This is, for some reason, being marketed as a women's blood pressure monitoring kit. I guess someone did some market research and discovered women want a blood pressure monitor made just for them (???)
In any even, this is a standard high quality blood pressure monitor that comes with two cuffs (a small one that will be more appropriate for many of the aforementioned "women" and a larger one that most men will find preferable). I'm a man and I work out, and the large cuff was more than adequately large.
In addition to the two different cuffs, you get a cute carrying case and the monitor itself (plus batteries and instructions).
The ergonomics of the blood pressure monitor itself are fine, and anyone who has used one of these devices before (or who can read instructions) will be up and running in a couple of minutes.
There are a lot of blood pressure monitors out there, some considerably cheaper than this one. But they are NOT all the same. Some are incapable of reliably determining your pressure. To determine how good this one is, I took my pressure, then had a friend who's a nurse take my pressure with a professional quality unit. The readings (both cystolic and diastolic) were within 4-6 of each other for the two units, which I consider to acceptably close for sequential readings. So I'd rate this monitor to be very good in terms of function.
Overall: You get the convenience of two different sized cuffs, a monitor that is pretty accurate, and a cute little carrying case. Perfect for either women or men.

I never thought I'd be getting a BP monitor, but my wife and I are getting older (but not old) and I figured it would be a useful tool to have around. It is a lot more convenient than going to the pharmacy or grocery store and taking your BP in one of those "chairs." More accurate too!
As of this writing, Amazon is offering deditcated electronic BP monitors at prices ranging from $23 to almost $1000. The 7300W falls into the low end of that spectrum at around $75, but is certainly not a cheap product. Both my wife and I tested it out found it to be very accurate.
It comes in a compact case and is easy to set up and use. Just slip on the appropriately sized cuff (comes with 2), insert the tube into the unit, and turn it on. It is fast and the readings coincide with the range of our previous readings, so I am fairly confident in them. It has more advanced features that the manual explains well (in several languages) but I'll explore those later.
When finished, it packs up neatly in its case. Very easy to take with you when traveling. As I noted, both my wife and I used it. I suspect the "Womens" moniker is just marketing. The larger of the two cuffs would fit my male arm even if it were twice the size.
A good product and certainly one to consider if you are in the market for a blood pressure monitor.

My guess is the manufacturer thought they could market it to women based on including a smaller cuff with a regular sized one. My arm size was right between the two sizes, so I tried them both. I tried each of them several times(following the instructions.) It takes about 40 seconds for the machine to take the reading, which appears to be average for these types of machines.
I found that my numbers were higher using the smaller cuff! I didn't expect there to be much difference, but it averaged 7 to 9 points higher on the systolic; the diastolic was the same. The smaller cuff's readings put me in the "high" zone, where as the larger cuff put my readings at the top of the "normal" zone.
Based on readings I have from my doctor's office, I think the larger cuff is probably the more accurate cuff for me to use. I tried my spouse's machine which is very similar to the Omron, and it was 8 to 10 points lower on both systolic and diastolic! Other units I've seen have settings which will go above 150 for testing if needed, but it appears this unit doesn't go higher than that.
Bottom line: no matter what machine is used, it should be checked with your doctor's office for accuracy/bias.

If you're a bigger person, it may not fit, and this is one thing that could have been improved.
When it comes to everything else, we have no complaints with this system. The directions are self-explanatory. Setup is a breeze, and within minutes you're on your way to tracking your blood pressure with accurate readings. Afterwards, everything fits right back into the handy and attractive carrying case until next use.

It's always a good idea to know where you stand health-wise. This goes especially for those who suffer from high blood pressure which makes controlling and monitoring your pressure a must. This little gadget is well designed for this task and despite it's title, it equally suited for use by men AND women. Easy to set up right out the box and easy to use.
It's great that they ship this with two cuffs, a small one and a large one. Also in the box are (4) AAA batteries, instructions and a nifty little carry case. In less than 5 minutes after opening the box you are ready to take your pressure and heart rate readings.
The only thing I see as kind of a down-side is that although the monitor will store several readings, and average them for you, it does not have the facility to do this for more than one person. There is a guest mode so that you don't mess up your average if you decide to let someone else use the device, but I surely would have given it an extra star if you could at least store and average measurements from at least two individuals.
Final Note: Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke and heart attack and most people with high blood pressure are not even aware that they have the affliction. Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and check you blood pressure regularly.

This is an arm cuff BP monitor, which is an upgrade over the wrist cuff monitor I used earlier. I find that this one gives much more accurate readings compared to my older wrist cuff monitor. Since other people have already gone over the product in detail, I'll just list the pros and cons:
Pros:
-- Easy to use, just one touch start and stop, also stops automatically when the reading is done.
-- Readings are stored as an average of readings taken within a few minutes of each other
-- Relatively accurate readings (compared to doctor's office) and much more accurate readings than the wrist cuff monitors. The readings of both arms usually do not vary more than 5 points for both systolic and diastolic readings
-- Guest mode in case someone other than you uses this monitor
-- Arm cuffs are well designed and have an arrow pointing to show the right direction to wear the cuff, there are some picture based instructions pasted on the cuff as well
-- 2 arm cuffs - small and large and the monitor can all be easily stored in a nicely designed gray zipper travel case which is included
Cons:
-- Still not as accurate as the doctor's office, the manual inflation mercury device that my doctor uses still remains the best BP instrument
-- I've noticed that the first reading is always 5-10 points lower than subsequent readings. I suspect this is more due to the battery than anything else.
Overall, this is a great device and makes it easy to keep track of your BP at home. I am not sure why it is supposed to be only a women's monitor, in my opinion men could use it just as well.

The time and date are easy to set, and it will give you an average values of your BP over time. You can set it to remind you to take your medicine, in case like me you remember you need to take it at every time except when you actually are near the medication. I've taken readings for several weeks now and they are all comparable to what they are at the doctor's office, so I presume it to be a fairly accurate indicator.
All in all, it's a decent little monitor and a good way to keep track of things, as high blood pressure often doesn't have any warning signs. I would recommend it to healthy individuals, but I would think those with health issues already might need a more comprehensive unit.

And so it be. The ONE AND ONLY drawback and problem with this unit is the lack of a backlight. I have no idea why Omron does not want to realize that B.P. monitors are most often used by older people for whom a lighted display would be an enormous convenience. They did make this monitor in a "male" version with lighted display but it has been discontinued. Why such a policy I will never understand. First off, don't let the word "Womens" in the name of this product fool you. It includes two different size arm cuffs and I guess Omron was thinking that with the larger cuff it would be beneficial for pregnant women.
This is our second Omron BP Monitor. The first was a Hem-711. I learned it was reading high. When I first ordered this new monitor it too measured high. I checked it against the BP reading at the local fire department, emergency room, and automatic bp machine at a local drug store. I sent the first one back and got a replacement and the new one seems to be spot on accurate. I learned that my old Omron was consistently giving inaccurately high readings. I chose this particular unit because it's, at the time of this writing, the highest rated one by Consumer Reports.
It's got a nice feature in that it will maintain the last eighty-eight BP readings and provide an average. The one flaw is that it will only do this for one person. I think a large majority of households that have a BP monitor need to use it for at least two people. It would have been nice if this had an option to program for at least two different people. Instead, it has a "guest option" this allows for another person to get a reading and it won't affect the average BP readings of the primary user.
It comes with a very handy little case and thus would be easy to pack for travel. If Omron would have allowed programming for multiple (at least two) users so the memory in the unit will remember two sets of averages then this would be pretty much the perfect machine for us. Accordingly, one of us has to maintain a daily record of our readings manually to get a good idea of our average BP. This is not too big of a hassle but if you're into modern technology, as I am, then, unless you're single, you'll likely feel the same way, especially if your spouse too is into modern technology. Then it's "who has to be the 'Guest' and maintain their own records?"

I recorded my bp readings with this monitor and then brought it with me to the doctor appointment. I took a reading with this machine shortly after the nurse took a reading with the office bp monitor and the readings were very close. It was fortunate that I did this because I was anxious about the appointment, so my bp was high. The doctor may have wanted to raise my medication, but with the good readings from the 2 weeks before, I avoided an unnecessary increase.
Sometimes the cuff will not inflate properly and shows an error. This seems to correct if I am sure to tighten the cuff enough and make sure the velcro closes smoothly and snugly.

A nearby drugstore frequently offers free blood pressure readings on specific days and at specific times. We used to take advantage of these opportunities, but now we're fortunate enough to be able to do this at home with the Omron Women's Advanced Blood Pressure Monitor. Yes, I did say "we" because the larger cuff is more than adequate for my husband.
We've checked the readings with those at our doctor's office as well as the drugstore and have found Omron to be accurate. It's easy to use, and oh so handy to be able to do this important test at home.
Thanks Omron!

We purchased an Omron HEM-780 for our dad about a year ago, and have been happy with the Omron brand. So it was a nice surprise to be able to try the Omron Elite.
I'm not really sure what part of the Omron Elite tailors it for women (except for the pink plastic packaging), but like all Omron products, it's built solidly. The ability to average prior readings is especially helpful, and the cuff is snug and inflates well. Additionally, the travel bag is a great way to carry the machine around on trips.
My biggest complaints about the machine- the standard cuff size is fine- the other size is not needed. Unless you're a woman with huge biceps (unlikely), then the standard cuff is of sufficient circumference. Also, I would have liked an AC adapter on a $75 machine. Battery power is convenient for portability, but for day to day use, an AC adapter would have been much better.

Again, I am not sure if I even want to try out the product knowing that the battery power might be insufficient enough to provide Omron Women's Advanced Elite 7300W the power it needs to function. I am shocked by Consumer's Report incompetency. What if the batteries provided was not powerful enough to supply the automatic blood pressure monitor the performance it needs? I am very apprehensive in trying out that product.

Highly rated by comsumer reports, but mine read 14/11 points above medical equipment at a fitness center, fire station and doctors office.
Manufacturer wanted me to mail it to them and pay a $5 fee to have them check it out. I just exchanged it for a new one from amazon. (Thank you Amazon)
The new one also reads high 10/10 over professional equipment. So I'll keep this one since it's at least consistant and just subtract 10 points from each reading to estimate my pressure.

Reviewed by: Reader Houston, TX USA

I bought one of these for my wife and a second one for my mother, both of whom have high blood pressure. Both were purchased from Amazon. These devices were accurate for about three months (relative to professional ones in doctors' offices), but then both began to give systolic readings that appeared high. On a recent visit to the doctor, the internist confirmed this for my wife's Omron, concluding that its systolic measurement was 15-20 mmHG high relative to her office device. My mother had a similar experience with hers, which now consistently reads 15-30 mmHG high. Both units give somewhat more accurate diastolic readings.

This machine is so much easier to use than others I've had. It's one button to push (no pumping or squeezing), it has good memory, and is easy to read. But I brought it to my doctor's office to compare to hers for accuracy (hers was new and state-of-the-art). We tried it a few times (on each arm) and it was consistently way off in the systolic readings. Amazon exchanged it for another and I brought that one to my doctor, but it was no more accurate than the previous one. My doctor thought that the cuff was over-inflating and that this might be responsible for the high readings. As the cuff is inflating the velcro starts to pull away a little, which it shouldn't do. So I gave the device two stars because of the design and ease of use, but I wouldn't trust the readings, especially if you are trying to determine a proper level of medication to maintain a good blood pressure. For its intended use, I would give it no stars at all.

I was expecting more precise blood pressure measurements than this unit provided. My systolic readings were consistently 10 points higher than normal for me, my diastolic readings were about 5 points higher and my pulse rate was about 10 beats faster than is usual.
I followed the included instructions to the tee and even asked for advice in the forums. No matter what I tried, my readings were inaccurate.
Seeing the other reviews, I felt like I was doing something wrong, but I followed the instructions precisely and still received inaccurate readings.
My best guess is that the readings are inaccurate because I have a small arm. My arm is just barely 9 inches (the minimum size for this meter).
I am very disappointed. I wanted more accurate readings. I suppose I could just subtract the points from my readings each time so I can have a general idea of whether my blood pressure is higher or lower on any given day.

It would sometimes read 10-25 points higher, which is scary, and other times be right on.
I returned it for a refund and will have my wife use her cuff on me for the time being.
The unit is very easy to use and stores a lot of readings for a health record. Too bad it didn't work for me as I really liked it and now am leery of the hassle of trying another one and verifying it's accuracy.

Being for a woman, I thought that the cuffs would fit me, but found that I fell between the two cuffs, which made for trouble as well. A small and a large cuff are included. The small is the right width for me and not long enough to wrap around my arm, while the large is too wide (almost covers my elbow).

For example, last night it read 185/118, but both my husband (who was once a medic in the Marine corp) and I got a manual reading around 137/89. If I hadn't purchased a manual BP set to check it against, I would have run to the emergency room. It's not hard to learn to check BP with a manually operated cuff and a stethoscope. Although it's a bit awkward, you can even do it on yourself. This is the third type of Omron "automatic" style cuff I've purchased over the years, and they have ALL read unreliably high when compared to the medical office readings. I highly recommend learning to do it yourself!
