This blood pressure monitor has been great for me. It is very consistent in the measurements it takes (as long as you are consistent with how you use it). This monitor has given me results that are very close to what the physician measures manually. My main complaint with most auto devices is that they are too inconsistent. One time I take a reading it will be 120/80, and then 1 minute later it will be 170/85, when it is really about 140/85.
I think this is in part due to my large arm diameter of about 16 inches. This cuff fits me very well, and it is easy to line up every time. It has a marking on the cuff to assist lining it up with your artery in your arm, and clear directions on the cuff. I also needed it to fit my wife with her 12 inch arms, and I really didn't want two separate cuffs. She has low blood pressure, and it worked just fine for that as well. This cuff appears to be accurate anywhere in the range it is supposed to fit.
I would strongly recommend this monitor, and I don't usually give items 5 stars unless they truly are exceptional. With this monitor, I will take my blood pressure 3 times in a row, and get the same 3 results, it is nice for a change.

I was right, It is easy to operate and do yourself. I also like the memory function. I would reccommend this product to anyone who must monitor their BP.

We bought this product after doing extensive research on the best, easiest to use blood pressure monitor. We were not sorry. It is a great product that really works well. We were replacing a unit that was nearly 30 years old. We're pleased with this purchase and would buy it again. The cuff stores inside the unit, something we lacked in our old unit. Now we can put the cuff away when we're done and the unit does not take up much space to store. There is a two person A & B memory so two people can store several prior readings to compare with a new one. The only thing I don't like is that you have to page back page by page to look at the previous readings, you can't go back and forth. But that is a small qualm with an otherwise accurate unit and good quality product.

I've used Omron Auto inflate Blood Pressure Monitors for about 20 years. This my second unit. The units are very accurate, durable, and as a rule easily used. This new unit has a semi pre-formed cuff which I find harder to get properly fitted on my arm and occasional error messages appear. Outside of this, it is an excellent unit, compact and accurate!

This bp monitor is very easy to use. Just put the cuff on your upper arm, as directed, push the start button, remain still and your bp is read. I did, however, take it in to my dr.'s office and the monitor was reading higher than the office reading. The dr. said that's usual for these at home monitors. I like this product and am happy I purchased it. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to monitor their bp at home.

Very easy cuff to use, both for myself and the bride. The A/B switch offers us both our individual history of last 20 readings. Deleting history in total is allowed although I would have liked to be able to delete the last one taken. The fact that it uses both battery and house-supplied power is a big plus.

My husband and I both watch our blood pressure and wanted one with a memory for two people. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked the larger case, but after using it awhile, I do like that there is storage space for the cuff. Makes it very neat and portable. My only compliant is the cuff doesn't fit well at end of wrap. May fit a larger person.

36.) SOMEWHAT DISAPPOINTING...NOT ACCURATE
Reviewed by: Philip Warner Hampton Bays, New York USA

I've been using the Omron HEM 773AC for five months and am somewhat disappointed in that the readings, based on what my doctor's office finds, are not accurate. It reads considerably lower than my actual B/P. I can get an more accurate reading by carefully watching the monitor for the "heart beat" indicator to appear after the cuff cuts off flow. But the meter always reads much lower... for example when I observe the "hear beat" return at 130 the meter will read 100 to 110.
The lower pressure I have no way of determining but I suspect
it is always a little low, maybe by ten numbers. On the positive side the unit is easy to use and I am getting an idea
of what raises my B/P.
I think three stars is more than fair for this machine.

Overall this product is just OK. I got a great deal on it (on sale, plus a $10 instant rebate, and I had gift certificates).
What I don't like about it is that #1: I feel like it's not accurate. I've been borderline HBP for a couple of years and now this machine gives me perfect readings. (119/79, 120/80, 117/78 to name a few) and #2: I often need a 2nd person to help me put the cuff on, otherwise it doesn't get as tight a fit. My dad has an older model where the cuff wraps around and slides through a metal loop so you can get a bit of leverage when you're putting it on with your other hand. This cuff is a little more awkward.
I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it, let's just say that.
38.) Easy to use, excellent features, but not real accurate

I found the Omron HEM-773AC automatic blood pressure monitor easy to use and a good indicator of blood pressure trends. I compared readings taken at the doctor's office and found my readings to be some what higher. I found the lack of repeatability to be an issue when taking several readings back to back. The accuracy may be lacking, but it served well as a general indicator of blood pressure trends. I like the easy wrap cuff when taking readings. The numbers in the readout are large and easy to read. The memory feature allows the user to store up to 20 readings including the date and time for two people. The ability to plug it in a wall outlet or use batteries is a real plus. Overall I feel this monitor is a good buy considering price, accuracy, and customer friendly features.
39.) good unit; wall wart generates lots of elf/emf
Reviewed by: Ottokrat San Jose, CA
Rating:
This is a very good blood pressure unit, easy to use, comfortable. It never over inflates - other units occasionally decide to use a second reinflation cycle, which way over inflates and hurts.
The only complaint that I have with it is that the wall wart it comes with generates a huge amount of elf/emf (whether the unit is in use or not). So, I'd suggest keeping the wall wart (not necessarily the bp unit itself) at least 4 to 5 feet, maybe more, away from your head while sleeping. I have measured the wall wart that comes with the hem 780 to generate much less elf/emf. Unfortuneatly the 780 does occasionally overinflate, which I hate. Also, the 773 uses a separate on and off button from start, and the 780 uses only one button, a bit less user friendly.
40.) Not accurate!

The Omron HEM-773 was recommended to me by a co-worker who was very pleased with the instrument. Since we both work in a hospital and have a good working knowledge in the area, I thought that this would be a slam dunk purchase.
I could not have been more wrong.
The reading varies from 10 to 15 units off from manual readings from 3 different well trained nurses. The unit is very easy to use and good features for the money but if I don't have confidence in the reading, what good is it. I rarely get it out and when I do, it just makes my literal "blood pressure" go up by it's misreading.
I would think that a instrument such as this would have a calibratiion mechanism.
In all fairness my co-worker loves hers but I bought mine here and am not happy.

![]() To take an accurate reading, first position the green marker directly over the artery on the inside of your arm. |

Place your arm on a table so that the cuff is positioned at the same level as your heart. Rest comfortably in a relaxed environment for at least 15 minutes prior to taking your blood pressure measurement. Once you feel relaxed, simply press the start button and remain still. The cuff will begin to inflate and numbers will appear on the display as the heart symbol flashes. When the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your blood pressure and pulse rate will display on the screen. If you need to stop the measurement at any time, simply press the on/off button and the monitor will immediately deflate. And remember, always consult your physician for specific information about your blood pressure.
What is IntelliSense?
The IntelliSense monitor inflates the cuff to the ideal level with each use -- you never have to make any adjustments to select an inflation level. This is especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders because their blood pressure is so likely to fluctuate. The biggest advantage of using the IntelliSense technology is a personalized inflation, every time, for maximum comfort.
The Importance of Home Blood Pressure Monitoring
Doctors, diabetes educators, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals all recommend home blood pressure monitoring for various reasons. Home monitoring provides your healthcare professionals with better information to understand and manage your high blood pressure. Many types of hypertension can only be detected by monitoring your blood pressure at home, including:
