The product works perfectly. It was an exact replacement for the one my dog chewed up and I was very pleased to find it online. Better still, after doing some research, I found that your price was the lowest of all vendors (including the actual manufacturer, which by the way had one of the highest prices)

My first strap lasted several years but ended up very stretched out. This is an exact duplicate and works just as well and fits snuggly.
6.) A good buy

I was frankly a little concerned that, despite the product description and picture, the item might not include the elastic strap with the transmitter, since Amazon listed the strap as an item frequently purchased with this item. In case anyone else is concerned, yes, it does come with the elastic strap!
The transmitter works well in general, although I've noticed it gives me trouble when running near power lines -- I don't know if anyone has found a way to prevent that yet.
7.) Effective but a bit uncomfortable in warm weather

This Transmitter works very well. I use it for spinning. It is effective in giving you feedback about your workout. The drawback is that wearing a band around your abdomen is a bit uncomfortable in warm conditions. The discomfort is worth it, though, since it allows your to work out more efficiently.
8.) Fastening the tranasmitter

Polar make great products. I still don't know why they don't add a silicon stripe (similar to those that you find on spandex bike pants) on the transmitter or belt to improve fastening.
9.) Excellent Telemetry Strap

I purchased this telemetry strap to use while working out at the gym. Almost all the cardio machines at my gym have Polar receivers and can display my heart rate from this transmitter without having to hold on to the physical sensors. This may not seem like a big win, but it's much more comfortable to walk on a treadmill or use an elliptical machine without having to hold on to heart rate sensors.
Using the strap is easy: you just wrap it around your chest, connect the loose end of the strap to the sensor and moisten the contacts. There is no on/off button so you don't have to worry about anything except for putting it on. It is fairly comfortable to wear, and I don't really notice when it is on. The whole thing is made out of plastic and the strap is elastic. The build quality is excellent and it is completely waterproof.
The strap is 'coded' which means that you don't have to worry about interference from other people wearing straps around the gym. This works with the polar wrist-watches, but I have found that the 'coding' doesn't work with the Life Fitness treadmills/elliptical machines or the Precor elliptical machines at my gym. Your mileage may vary, but if the person next to me on the machine is also wearing a telemetry strap, the machine will get confused and vary wildly in its reading. Sometimes it will display my heart rate, and others it will display the person next to me. This is more a problem of the proximity of the machines. If the other person is one machine away, there is no problem with interference. I haven't found this to be a big deal, if I need to I just move one machine over.
Pros:
+ Fully waterproof
+ Excellent build quality
+ Comfortable
+ Accurate
Cons:
- Interference with other transmitters nearby in gym (this is a problem with the receiver on the equipment, not the strap).
Bottom Line: Excellent strap to use with a watch. If you are using in a gym with a receiver on a machine, be prepared to deal with some interference if there is another transmitter within 5-10 feet.
Features of Polar T31 Coded Transmitter and Belt Set
T31C with elastic strap
Smaller means increased comfort, the new T31c with elastic strap is smaller than the T61. The T31c is 100% waterproof, has a 2500 hour battery life and, the coded transmission eliminates interference from other HRMs. The T31C is backed by the Polar standard 2 year maintenance free warranty.
Slim, lightweight, and water-resistant, the Polar T31 coded transmitter and belt set accurately transmits your heart rate data to your Polar wrist-top computer. As a result, it's easy to monitor your heart rate during training runs. This version of the T31 coded, meaning it prevents crosstalk from other electronic devices to ensure complete accuracy (Polar also sells a non-coded T31). It's also built to last, with a design that holds up to 2,500 hours of training usage. The transmitter belt--which works with all current Polar wrist-top computers except the CS600 and RS800--includes a sealed transmitter and elastic strap.
About Polar
The first EKG accurate wireless heart rate monitor was invented by Polar back in 1977 as a training tool for the Finnish National Cross Country Ski Team. The concept of "intensity training" by heart rate swept the athletic world in the eighties. By the 1990s, individuals were looking to heart rate monitors not only for performance training needs, but also for achieving everyday fitness goals. Today, the same concept of heart rate training is being used by world-class athletes as well as everyday people trying to lose weight. Polar is the leading brand among consumers, coaches, and personal trainers worldwide and the company is committed to not only producing the best products, but also being the leading educator on the benefits of heart rate based exercise.
